When it comes to fashion inspiration, who doesn’t want to look like a supermodel?
For Hudson Jeans’ Spring 2025 collection, they tapped supermodel and actress Brooks Nader to collaborate and design a collection that combines the classic denim styles of Hudson Jeans with the cool girl vibes of an off-duty model.
To learn more about how the collaboration came together, I spoke with Nader and Peggi Jewell, VP & Division Head of Hudson Jeans, to get the full scoop:
A Partnership Years In The Making
As always, the best collaborations are born from an authentic place of brand affinity. Nader described, “Hudson has always been one of those effortlessly cool brands that I’ve loved since I was a young girl in Louisiana.” Her familiarity with the brand and longtime affection for it made the partnership a “no-brainer”.
Not only was she an enduring fan of the brand, but she also valued the features that made Hudson Jeans so unique. Jewell described their first design meeting with Nader: “In our first meeting with her, she made it clear that it was important to her to include one of our design details particularly, our signature Flap Pocket, which put Hudson on the map.” Jewell said this was “music to [Hudson’s] ears” as it showcased how much Nader understood what made Hudson so special. Naturally, that iconic flap pocket features in several of the pieces from the collection.
Sources Of Design Inspiration
Nader noted that both she and Hudson “have that bold, confident, little-bit-rock-and-roll energy" that echoes through the collection. The design process was incredibly hands-on; “think mood boards, fabric swatches, and way too many texts to the sister group text testing outfits,” Nader shared.
Jewell also echoed the collaborative nature of the partnership: “Whether we were reviewing leather qualities or picking trim colors, she was decisive on what she liked and wanted, but also collaborative every step of the way," and the strong collaboration comes across wonderfully in the final collection. With pieces including corset-inspired bodysuits, low-rise boxy denim shorts, an ultra-mini, and a dark denim bodysuit that is sure to be a new wardrobe staple, the collection nails that effortlessly cool vibe with ease.
Standout Pieces & Styling Tips
Of course, I had to ask Nader what her favorite piece was from the collection. “It’s so hard to choose,” she confessed, “but I have a major obsession with the Sarah Jane Leather Jacket.” She recommended pairing it with “a tank, strappy heels, and a big pair of sunnies” for a look that’s totally cool and supermodel-approved.
When it comes to styling the rest of the collection, Nader had a few more pointers: first, that balance is key. “If you’re going for a baggier fit, keep the top sleek and fitted; if you’re rocking a more structured piece, lean into an effortless, undone vibe.” With a mix of fitted and relaxed pieces in the collection, you’ll easily strike this balance.
Her second styling reminder? “Always—ALWAYS—accessorize; I am a more is MORE girl!” As someone who loves a good accessory, I’m inclined to agree. And this collection, with its beautiful denim and elevated cool-girl basics, is the perfect canvas for accessorizing.
